Houston forecast: Heavy rain, lightening on slow trek; tracking Hurricane Isaias
Enjoy the rain if you get it, because that’s the only way afternoon temperatures won’t get into the mid-90s for the next few days.
HOUSTON — Hotter temperatures have returned to Southeast Texas as high temps in the mid-90s are expected for the next several afternoons.
There is, however, a scattered rain chance, especially on Friday and Saturday.

By Saturday, a weak front will slip into the area, but don’t get too excited about cooler temperatures. We don’t see those kind of cold fronts until mid- to late- September. Until then, it’s just more of the same.
One thing the front will do is give us another decent round of showers on Saturday before drying out on Sunday. Look for high temperatures the next 7 days in the mid-90s with only a slight rain chance next week.
Hurricane Isaias update
Tropical Storm Isaias became Hurricane Isaias late Thursday night. The current forecast track still keeps it away from Texas, making Florida and the edge of the U.S. East Coast a likely target. Winds as of Friday morning were 80 mph.
